Why do the main characters in so many MM romances don't have last names?

Because they are too angsty for last names?

Or is it because it's easier and faster to find and replace just one word ("Harry" with "Adrian" and "Draco" with "Marco") in the MS Word program when it's time to submit the story for publication?

That aside, I can say that in Graphic novels, last names are often required - but rarely said out loud [in conversation], so they get lost in mix.

I didn't get it the first time I read it. Probably because I can't imagine the HP kids (no matter how old they've become over the years) getting it on in any combination. I forgot the whole fan fic world, which, despite my m/m releases, I've never participated in.

I was kind of thinking you meant it the cat/dog way - basically same book as the author's last book, just change in character names and eye color.

This drives me nutty! Because I do reread the book again if I do not have all the characters full names in my review notes.

I do this out of respect to the writer to make sure they know I read the book and made those notes on the main characters.

Anyway, drives me nuts when I keep looking in vain. At least comment or use it in a description at least once.

Brava! That is the biggest laugh I have had all month. But it does lead to the question of whether the leather pants stay in or are replaced by some other garment.
